In days gone by there were realists. These were called everything from explorers to astronauts to mindless. What they all had in common was, wait for it, common sense. Common sense is underrated by pseudo intellectuals. Pseudo intellectuals overrate themselves and the art of thought. Thought, the act of thinking before acting. If a person doesn’t think before acting they will tighten a nut rather than loosen it; a mild analogy. Not the analogy I first “thought” of but I want to maintain a modicum of decorum here. Not pulling a zipper up came to mind and I shall leave it there.
Thought
Thought is the process of mind through which a person proceeds in life. There is beneficial thought and there are thoughts of mayhem. The two are separated by the expanse equal to the Gobi Desert. The beneficial thought rarely, if ever, goes toward mayhem. Doctors supplying medical cures are an example of beneficial thought. For that matter, parents caring for their children’s upbringing also is beneficial.
Oppenheimer
On the tag end of this are the likes of Oppenheimer, the one who invented, among others, the atomic bomb. This was genius thinking that resulted in a terrible outcome because the use of this technology will end my writing on the internet due to a lack of electricity being generated or readers to support what I do. Wouldn’t that be awful? Nah, you wouldn’t know it because death or radiation sickness would stymie your gazing on the internet.
Beneficial
To help each and every one of us thought must be beneficial for, out of thought comes action and actions quite often lead to war, unrest, civil disobedience and killing, plus, a fair amount of maiming. This includes infants, Moms and Dads, brothers and sisters and a few cousins here or there. Did I mention neighbors?
On the other hand, beneficial thought coincides with getting along nicely. Examples are helping an elderly neighbor or caring for the less fortunate or just saying a firm and happy hello to a stranger. Who knows what that stranger is going through? Life isn’t always fair now is it? It is up to you and I to provide beneficial thought. We cannot wait for others to do this or it will never get done. So much is up to you and I and starting begins with a smile and happy hello. It isn’t that difficult unless you are on the left. In that case there is hell to pay and hell always has its hands out for more misery.
