It is really an unadulterated mess, this little ball of creation on which we exist for a very short time. You can always tell when people are not looking beyond themselves by the way they act. Self is a trap but these folks have not a clue. Botox, facial surgery, breast augmentation, you name it, it is all about self.
There are many things I wish were different about me and especially some of the stupid stuff I’ve done. When I was young I dumbly wished I could change some characteristics about me but I knew better. I knew that I was created the way I am for a reason. A reason called, make the best with what you have. that reason won out but, then again, surgery and augmentation was not available then but to the extremely wealthy. There is something to be said for not being wealthy because you learn to make do and doing so acquaints you with reality.
It is an unreal world made worse by social media. I don’t say this for all people on social media only those who place importance on what strangers say is right. There is only one right and you know what that is or you wouldn’t be reading here. We are created only one way and we have to live with it. We can’t do that until we realize that we are short timers here. Take it from and old man, life goes quicker than one is capable of realizing. One weekend you’re partying with your friends the next you’re wrinkled and your back is killing you.
Of course, this doesn’t begin to dawn until you reach, say, forty. Even then you carry on as though there is no tomorrow and guess what? You look in the mirror and your hair is white. Then you need to hustle only you don’t have the means to hustle any longer. This is what the sin in the Garden levied upon our heads, death, aging, misery and pain. However, this is also why Jesus came here to save you and I from an eternity of blackness and nothing.
As you go through your day think about eternity and what it takes to get permission to see it. Eternity is Gods and He doesn’t want sinners ever to see it. This is actually why you have life at all.
